Our Band: Metamorpheus

Metamorpheus is a blend of professional musicians with rich backgrounds in Symphonic, Baroque, Contemporary, Improv, English, and Contra Dance music. This year’s six-piece lineup includes: Marnen Laibow-Koser on fiddle, viola, piano, and flute; Alexander Mitchell on fiddle; Marco Brehem on bass,
Ray Salvo on clarinet, penny whistle; Yaron Shragai on recorder, flute, and percussion; and David Wiesler on piano and guitar. Between us, we have played for everything from nineteenth century balls, contra dances, and English Country Dances to Klezmer, country western, and honky-tonk events in various band configurations in the Northeast and internationally over the past decade, including at the Kennedy Center, the Yale School of Music, and New York’s Lincoln Center. Our name originates from Orpheus, the child of Calliope, and we see ourselves as an evolving group of excited and talented musicians looking forward to playing for the President’s Remembrance Day Ball!
The Victorian Photography Studio

PLEASE NOTE: The Victorian Photography Studio suffered a devastating fire in early September. Thankfully, the owner was unharmed. A GoFundMe has been set up to assist with expenses. We are not yet certain whether VPS will be able to attend the Ball. We will update this page when we have more information.
