My wife, Nancy, and I have been attending the Remembrance Day festivities since 1992. We began sponsoring this dinner/ball in 2003 so to have everything for the evening at one location instead of having to travel around and make multiple reservations. Beginning last year, introduced two new layers, a Masquerade Ball on Friday and a Crystal Ball on Saturday to make each evening more enjoyable. These are optional but well worth the effort and help us appreciate what our ancestors enjoyed. Any attire that is pre-1865 is welcome for Friday and any Civil War attire is welcome for Saturday.

We invite you to join us in our fifteenth year at The President's Remembrance Day Ball which will be held on TWO nights, Friday and Saturday, November 17th & 18th, 2017 at the Hotel Gettysburg in Gettysburg, PA. Please come and join us for an evening of fine food, dancing and good company.

The Fifteenth Annual
Remembrance Day Dinner & Ball

Hello All!
It is with great pleasure that Karen, Nancy and I announce that tickets for this year's Remembrance Day Dinner and Ball are now available! We wanted to freshen things up a bit so we have changed just about everything. Aside from being at the same location, each night will be completely different: different themes, different food, different musicians and music, different door prizes and chocolate frames and different dancemasters! Here's what's is in store for this year:

Friday night, November 17th
Friday's theme offers you the opportunity to enjoy something that our ancestors found to be a lot of fun - dressing up in another time period. This start of the weekend with a creative and amusing flourish allows you to take in the other events in town on Saturday, such as the Illumination at the Cemetery. For costume ideas please visit Karen's pinterest site at:

or if you have questions please feel free to contact Karen at:

Saturday night, November 18th
The Saturday night event offers the capping of another Remembrance Day weekend with a grand celebration themed as The Prince of Wales Ballfeaturing dance master Susan de Guardiola . Ladies are asked to wear a tiara (very popular in the 1860s) and to add crystals to their gowns or headpieces and use white flowers as dress accents. If you have a white or light pastel ballgown this would be the perfect ball to which to wear it! Gentlemen are asked to wear a white flower boutonniere. These suggestions are requested but are optional..

The ticket price for either evening is just 78.00 per person which includes the social hour, a three course dinner, all the usual gifts, the chocolate frames and great entertainment, Tickets are limited and sell-outs occur almost every year. When ordering tickets, please include the number of tickets needed, which night you will be attending, your email address and dinner selections. Tickets for just the Ball portion of the evenings are also available. In addition to payments by check, we can now accept Paypal and most major credit cards. Just contact us for the details. Period attire is required of all. And while this is an event for adults, any children attending must wear appropriate period attire.
